Peter was educated at Deerfield Academy, Harvard College and the University of Virginia Law School. After college, he served four years in the Navy as an officer in submarines. After law school Peter moved to Wilmington, Delaware, where he practiced law as a partner in the firm of Potter, Anderson and Corroon for 20 years. Peter vacationed on Boca Grande beginning in 1968 and moved to the Island in 1991. He was actively involved in the design and construction of his present and former Island residences. He began his real estate career in 1992 and started two businesses, the Buyer's Broker of Boca Grande and Boca Grande Outfitters, with his son, Zeke. Peter joined Gulf to Bay in 2004 and has bought or sold over 100 properties on Gasparilla Island. The Steffan/Sieglaff Team represented the Gasparilla Island Conservation and Improvement Association for its purchase of the $20 million 30 acre conservation tract at the gateway to the Island. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Gasparilla Island Conservation and Improvement Association, The Island School and the Boca Grande Health Clinic Foundation. Peter has three children, seven grandchildren and enjoys golf, fly fishing and an occasional game of poker and cribbage. He is a member of the Gasparilla Inn Beach Club and Golf Club. Peter is the Commodore of the Basin Sailing Yacht Club which races radio controlled sailboats on Sunday afternoons from his dock on the Waterways Basin in Boca Grande. Peter lives, works and plays on the Island.
